Coach Deric has been studying martial arts for 12 years. He is an accomplished martial artist who studies under some of the greats in the world of martial arts such as: Master Patrick Tray, Guro Dan Inosanto, Ajarn Surachai Sirisute, Master Rigan Machado, Khun Kru Mikey Custiodio, Sifu Leonard Stevens, Professor Christopher Fones, and many more. Coach Deric started his martial arts career in Tae Kwon Do, earning a second degree black belt. Shortly after he realized that one style of martial arts does not encompass everything needed for self defense. That is when he started training at Trident Academy in Woodbridge VA under the legendary Patrick Tray (Navy Seal Veteran). He started training in Tridents JTX kickboxing program (Muay Thai, Jeet Kune Do mix) earning his black belt under master Tray in the style. Coach Deric continues his studies into Muay Thai, Jeet Kune Do (Bruce Lee’s Philosophies), French Savate, and Tier One Krav Maga. Coach Deric is also a purple belt in Brazillian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) under Professor Christopher Fones and Patrick Tray, and he continues to study at different schools all over the United States to further his knowledge within BJJ and Submission Grappling. Coach Deric also studies and teaches certain styles within the Filipino Martial Arts (Kali/Weapons).
